About MRC

With the vision of making commerce safe and profitable everywhere, the Merchant Risk Council is the leading global trade association for eCommerce fraud and payments professionals. The MRC was established in 2000 by a small group of merchant professionals from leading consumer brands who all shared a mutual goal of improving eCommerce payments while supporting their organizations' risk management efforts. In 2010, the MRC expanded its community to Europe, and currently supports almost 450 member companies in over 20 countries.

Committed to propelling the industry forward, the MRC provides year-round support and education to members by providing access to proprietary benchmarking reports, workshops, whitepapers, presentations and webinars. An essential aspect of the eCommerce fraud and payments business is building professional networks and connections. Therefore, each year the MRC hosts four conferences in the United States and Europe, with an annual flagship event in Las Vegas every spring. MRC Communities, local chapters and road shows also provide a platform for industry professionals to build stronger connections by sharing best practices and emerging trends.

MRC's membership has grown to include almost 400 of the world's most prominent merchant organizations, over 70 industry solution provider sponsor companies, and multiple law enforcement agencies in the United States and Europe.
