MRC Appoints Paul Kuykendall as CEO

Seattle, WA -- The Merchant Risk Council (MRC) announced today that its Global Board of Directors elected Paul Kuykendall as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Kuykendall will assume day-to-day leadership of the MRC, and together with the Global Board, drive the organization's strategic direction.

Prior to his appointment to CEO, Paul served as Chair of the MRC Global Board of Directors as well as Vice President of Payment Products at Ticketmaster. Brad Mares, Senior Manager of Fraud Strategy and Analytics at Target, has replaced him as governing Chair of the MRC Global Board. "The Board and I are confident Paul is the right person to build on the momentum and accomplishments the MRC has experienced this past year," said Mares.

The MRC grew global membership by 10%, launched RAPID Edu, its own eLearning Program, and achieved record attendance at all four annual conferences over the last year.

"He is a highly skilled leader, open-minded to innovative ideas and brings with him over 25 years' industry experience," Mares continued. "We anticipate continued success for the organization with Paul's leadership and vision."

Mr. Kuykendall has a track record of leading high-performing teams and has international expertise in payment systems, fraud detection, access control, and software product development. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and began his career designing, testing, and deploying military computer systems. In 1993, he joined Ticketmaster as a Senior Software Developer where he architected its payment and fraud strategy. Most recently, he held the title of Vice President, in charge of Payment platforms.
