Addressing Bot Attacks in a New Era of Digital Security

Aron Eidelman -- Castle

Presentation

Bots are increasingly sophisticated, with some now used to execute fake account creation and carding arracks. Detecting large-scale activity like denial of service attacks is one thing; it is altogether different when bots mimic legitimate activity.

This presentation highlights traits of automated attacks, then looks at traditional detection systems and their drawbacks. An overview of machine learning traits which can be utilized to detect and validate behavioral attributes in real time is shared next, along with possible disadvantages of machine learning and behavioral analytics.
