Fraud & Risk

Leveraging the Five Pillars of Accertify's Digital Identity to Stop Account Takeovers

Andrew Mortland and Stuart Mann -- Accertify

Presentation

During the unprecedented times brought on by COVID-19, a broad array of consumers have changed their online habits, turning to websites and apps to purchase some products like groceries while other web properties like travel loyalty programs are set aside. Fraudsters have likewise adjusted their approach and are attempting more targeted attacks in an effort to exploit the value in victims' accounts.

This presentation highlights the types of data available for sale on the dark web and how it is then used for phishing and account takeover attacks. Accertify then gives an overview of their Digital Identity solution and details five pillars of identity which can help companies secure accounts while providing a low-friction experience for longstanding customers. Four use cases are then presented in closing to showcase common attacks and how identity insights can help mitigate them.
