Friendly fraud is typically defined as a chargeback filed after the purchaser has received the merchandise or service -- the purchase may have been made on the user's own payment card, or that of a relative or friend. This presentation reviews various statistics to help frame the problem, then looks at four main causes of friendly fraud. Purchase transparency is then proposed as a solution to reduce disputes. Four recommendations for merchants conclude the deck.
