Card testing occurs when fraudsters attempt to make low-value online purchases using lost or stolen payment cards to determine whether a card is still valid or has been cancelled. If a transaction is approved, fraudsters will then typically attempt a higher value order with the same card.

This webinar begins by reviewing current fraud trends, including problems resulting from automated fraud, then examines five issues resulting from carding attacks. Patterns, indicators, and two types of carding bots are discussed next, followed by ideas to prevent carding as part of a larger mitigation strategy. An extensive Q&A period concludes the broadcast.
