Tripadvisor, the world's largest travel guidance platform, helps hundreds of millions of people become better travelers, from planning to booking to taking a trip. Millions of accounts are accessed every second of the day on the Tripadvisor platform. It is safe to say that a password is not enough to protect an account. For businesses to protect their customers and stop account takeovers, whilst still providing a frictionless customer experience, new security approaches must be employed.

Learning Objective:

  • Fighting fraud today involves having access to the right data sets. With widespread access to breached and stolen data, fraudsters can defeat knowledge-based authentication methods. Tripadvisor was able to significantly reduce their overall operational cost by employing multi-layered fraud detection.
